Still have questions about the Empower U seminar?
On this page, we have answered the most common questions we receive from parents and students before they attend the Empower U event for the first time.
Who should attend Empower U?
Every child and young adult between the ages of 13 – 25 who wants an unfair advantage in life …
Who wants better school or university results, better communication skills, better finances, more motivation and direction … everyone who wants to get ahead in any way.
How do I get my child to attend when they don’t feel like it?
We are used to many parents facing resistance from their child when it comes to attending Empower U. This is nothing unusual, and it often happens because their child doesn’t fully understand the value of the program…yet!
We’ve created a Secret Parent-Free Page you can share with your child, so they can hear what other participants have to say about the program. Often watching these is enough to convince a child that it’s going to be a fun event.
However, if you still find yourself facing “I don’t want to” then we recommend being a parent first, and a friend second. Many parents ‘force’ their kids to attend, but ironically, these are usually the participants that end up getting the most out of the weekend!
What about food and refreshments during the event?
Attendees are asked to bring their own food to Empower U. This enables us to keep our costs down to the “bare bones”.
If we were to provide food for your child over the weekend it would add hundreds of dollars to the cost of the event.
So I’m sure you can see that it makes sense for your child to bring their own food. Please note: there will be plenty of fresh water to drink.
What about accommodation and transport to the venue?
We do not provide accommodation so that must be arranged by you prior to arriving. We also do not provide transport from accommodation to the venue or vice versa.
This enables us to keep our costs down to the “bare bones”. If we were to provide accommodation and transport for your child over the weekend it would add hundreds of dollars to the cost of the event.
Does Empower U provide a safe environment for my child?
Absolutely, yes! In addition to Brent Williams, our founder and head presenter, there is an ‘assist’ team present at all times to supervise and attend to your child’s needs.
We also always ensure there is a qualified First Aid giver present at every seminar.
Why is the program so long? Is this too much for my child to handle besides school etc.?
The reason why we get the amazing results we do through Empower U is because we have the time to really shift the participants mindset.
If we wanted to simply motivate or inspire them then an hour or two would suffice.
However, we delve into a lot of complex concepts and key ideas to really empower the students to achieve big results.
What is important to recognise though, is that your child will have more energy when they leave then when they started (and that is a guarantee).
Can parents be present at the seminar?
Parents are not allowed to be present during the event. It is imperative that our young participants go through this journey on their own.
If a parent is in the room, it can be a massive distraction for kids and do more harm than good.
However, at the graduation evening on Sunday night, we go through various parts of the program for you to understand the methodology behind it and how it is relevant to not only your child but also yourselves.
What qualifications do you have to run the seminar?
I have spent the last 20 years working with top achievers from all walks of life.
What we have done is found their “recipes”, or in other words, discovered what makes them get the results they do. Having worked with a wide variety of personalities and thousands of kids during our events, we have seen and experienced some incredible transformations that have impacted us greatly.
Empower U is our way to share these experiences with teenagers and young adults to give them a head start early on in their lives and bring out the best in them.
Is there anything my child or I need to know or do before the seminar?
Other than all of the details for times, venue, clothes and graduation just know that it is going to be a once in a life-time experience and come along open minded, excited and have a willingness to participate.
